We proudly launched our STEM (STEAM) Hubs in Banda Ahenkro, in the Northern part of Ghana. Five Hubs, each comprising ten students from nine schools in the Banda region, were established with a focus on hands-on learning and real-world applications of science and technology.
For the Junior High class, the lessons on Conversion and Conservation of Energy and Electricity and Electronics opened up new worlds of understanding. Meanwhile, the Primary School students explored the wonders of Living Cells and also delved into Electricity and Electronics. For many of these children, this was their first time engaging with science kits and conducting practical sessions, bringing the subjects they’ve only read about to life.
The impact on the students has been profound. In communities where educational resources are limited, these Hubs are not just about learning science—they’re about inspiring dreams and fostering curiosity. The students, energized by their newfound knowledge, have expressed a newfound excitement for their future in STEM fields.
Beyond the classroom, the safety and support of the LEAD Center ensured a nurturing environment for all. Each day began with a nutritious meal, and the students were provided with lunch, ensuring they had the energy to fully engage with the lessons. The overall experience has been life-changing for these young minds, setting a foundation for lifelong learning and growth.
What is next? Our vision is 100 Hubs in a year, reaching. 5000 Children...Do you want to join us?
